Abstract

This paper explores the main characteristics of body part words (BPWs) in Arabic and English with a view to bringing into focus the main aspects ofsimilarity and difference between the two languages in this area. In particular, the author seeks to highlight the fact that, even though the topic in question is universal, the two languages often represent reality in different ways.
